Well, school time has started in Indianapolis, and this year it is extra special. Abi started Kindergarten a little over a week ago. Her first day was August 12th. Despite a little mix-up with her bus on the way back from shool, everything has gone very well. The bus driver wasn't sure where to drop her off after school and attempted to drop her off at two different day cares. She handled it very well and as she told us later:
If your bus driver doesn't know where to take you, you have to give her directions.
Well...okay then. I waited at day care with her on her first day to snap a picture of her getting on the bus. I have to admit that there were tears in my eyes has she bounded away from me and up the steps. She didn't give me a second thought as she said HI to the bus driver. Most of all, I was very proud to see what an independent little girl she is.
She loves being at school all day. We are fortunate in our township to have all-day kindergarten. Her teacher is Mrs. Gordon, and she is in Room 106 at the Early Childhood Center. The no nap situation can get a little touchy, and we are finding by the middle of the week the smallest thing can set her off. Soon she will settle-in, and everything will be fine.
