Happy Birthday, Jack & Beau!!!!!

Yes folks...I know it is hard to believe. It really has been over a year since Jack and Beau blessed us with their presences. The Boys (the Brothers as they are called in our house) are now one year old. We had a small party on the Sunday after their birthday. There are a lot of pictures in this posting, so please bear with me. The Boys (Jack, left & Beau, right) had no idea that it was their special day. They could not figure out why we had been singing to them since Thursday. They didn't mind, though...they would just look up at us and smile! Some of you may or may not know this, but the Boys and I share a birthday. That is why you will see three birthday cakes on the kitchen table. We'll also send a shout out to Aunt Becky who is the other lucky person who was born on October 9th!!





We were all taking bets on which one of the Boys would dig into his cake first, but they both surprised us all. Let me tell you, these Boys can eat. Usually, we have to pull food out of their mouthes because they are shoveling it in so quickly. I placed one large piece of chocolate cake on each of their highchairs, and they just sat there and looked at the cake and then each other. They had no idea what to do. It could have been the sheer size of the cake in front of them, but whatever it was they wouldn't eat it. Finally, Jack was the first one to reach over and grab a sprinkle. Lucy intervened after a little while a got each boy a spoon. They finally started taking small bites of the cake. It didn't take long though before it was all over their faces! (Beau, left; Jack, right)

When they started to turn green from all of the cake, we decided to put them in the bath. That was some nasty bath water. Like usual, they loved it! Bathtime is something that we could probably do every night, and they would be thrilled. Aren't their little bottoms just adorable?!?! I don't know which one is which from the back...shame on me. Which one is which on the clean babies, you ask? (Beau, left; Jack, right) Did you get all of those right?

As you can expect, we keep very busy. They are a lot of fun, and they never leave us a dull moment (except when they are sleeping). Thankfully, they are very good sleepers. They are not walking yet but as of this weekend, Beau has been standing on his own without holding onto anything. The race is on...which Brother will walk first? Jack is showing promise, but Beau never likes to be shown-up.
