Race Widow

Definition: A woman whose husband is often away pursuing racing, specifically Indy Car.

Well, racing season is upon us, and our house is all abuzz. I know that the racing season has begun when:

• Ryan is planning our weekends around the races on TV
• The main topic of discussion at the dinner table with the Girls is who is going to win the next race (usually the answer is Danica or Helios)
• Ryan is packing his travel bag on Tuesday night
• There is no more room on our DVR because now all of the races are recorded in HD
• Ryan disappears on the weekends to remote places and comes back sunburned
  (He may just be frolicking in Mexico, but somehow he gets the Indy Racing League to deposit a paycheck in our bank account a few days after he returns.)

Seriously, though...IRL racing season has begun, and this one should be a doozy! For those of you that have never given racing a chance...it is more than just a bunch of cars going around a track. Get out there and check it out. It better be for me to become a widow for the next few months. :-)
